An interesting and well-attended event featured speakers and attendees from across Europe on 7-8 December 2017. Congregating in Vienna, for two days of conversation and exploration on all aspects of the future of work and workplaces, topics were varied. From the relentless march of data and tech, through to creating environments for people to thrive, theory was combined with real world case studies from large and small organisations alike.
BDG's Change Maker, Andy Swann, was asked to keynote with an interactive session on Design Thinking for the Human Workplace, drawing on our work at BDG and highlighting practical points in immersive and fun ways. Finishing with top tips, Andy's summary was much like the other speakers’ – workplaces exist to enable people to do their best work. No matter what trends come and go, that will never change!
To highlight the importance of people to organisations, the event featured a unique social walking tour of Vienna. A chance to meet the other delegates in a less formal setting, sample some mulled wine and experience the impressive architecture of one of Europe’s most picturesque cities.
