As part of their UK property strategy, Balfour Beatty consolidated its property portfolio in London, bringing together their operations to the 7 storey Stockley House in Victoria.
BDG was responsible for designing the office upgrade, providing a new home for the various groups including Construction Services, Rail, Support Services and Group Head Office.
The space provides 600 workstations in predominantly open plan, and was designed to provide a more collaborative workspace supported by think tank, project and breakout spaces.
Sustainability is high on Balfour Beatty’s agenda, with a target to reduce their green house gases by 20% in 5 years alongside their 2020 Vision. The property rationalisation was an opportunity to project this image within their buildings but also incorporate the specification of sustainable materials and efficient equipment where feasible.
