They had been based at Rivergate House in Newbury for a number of years and, rather than move, wanted to upgrade their space whilst also taking the opportunity to review their working practices and the potential to sub-let some space.
BDG undertook a workplace strategy programme to understand their utilisation and occupation of the space. The findings confirmed that moving towards a more agile environment was the right decision for them. The team workshops and staff questionnaires revealed their requirement for an environment they look forward to working in, that suits the way they work and condusive to team work and innovation.
Our approach to the design and planning was to make more efficient use of the space and to provide an improved customer experience, with greater choice for meeting and alternative spaces for their team to make it an efficient but interesting place to work, reflecting their brand and supporting their business.
Remaining in occupation during the refurbishment, the works were carried out over 3 phases. They now have new washrooms, ceilings, heating/ventilation that were provided by Landlord contribution. The restaurant has been upgraded and new furniture throughout with the introduction of alternative workspaces to support their move towards agile working.
